Where It All Began
The vision for Hotpot Jamaican Restaurant and Take Out started in 2017 as Head Chef and Co-Founder Carlus Osmond sat in the lunchroom at his car detailing job.
Every day for lunch, Carlus would bring leftovers from the previous night’s dinner. Each meal was a well-made, authentic Jamaican meal that left co-workers curious to try. Cow Foot Soup, Coconut Curry Shrimp with Rice and Peas? It was a far cry from his co-worker’s regular Sandwiches, Pizzas, and Burgers. As Carlus was eager to share his culture, he couldn’t think of a better way to connect than offering them some of his food made using original Jamaican recipes. After sharing his food with his co-workers, the demand for Jamaican cuisine became evident. Carlus was getting requests almost daily by his co-workers to bring in any “extra” food for them.
Overwhelmed by all the requests for Jamaican food, Carlus offered to take pre-orders through the week and prepare meals for his co-workers on Saturdays only. Little did Carlus know, the leftover lunches and extra boxes ordered for take-home led to husbands, wives, friends, and family of his co-workers all wanting a try at this delicious Jamaican food.
The Saturday orders just kept growing and growing, and it became clear that there was a real demand for the taste of authentic Jamaican food. With the idea of serving the entire community and making delicious Jamaican food available for everyone, a plan for Hotpot Jamaican Restaurant was devised!

"We order curry chicken with rice and beans and jerk chicken, coco bread and brown stew chicken EVERYTHING was delicious and was a lot of food for a great price. only issue was I asked for extra gravy on rice and asked to make sure was told they did and was disappointed because the was no gravy on rice. but besides that I loved my first time there and will be back again. my son loved the milo as well."
